THE MULGRAVE
This is the Mulgrave a new stalking knife design that has been made with the help from the Wildlife Manager from the Mulgrave estate.
The blade is made from 3mm stainless steel. The length of the blade is 95mm and the overall length is 225mm. The handle is the same shape as the ones that can be found on the Roe and Fallow stalkers. But that is where the similarities finish. |
The blade has been made narrower than that for the stalkers and has been given a spear point. This is to allow the blades to be used in tighter areas. The hump on the back of the blade is to give a thumb rest. It also gives you more blade to hold on to for when you want to put your finger to the end of the blade when zipping open a carcass.
|
There are three different sheath options for the Mulgrave The first is the traditional leather sheath this is different to the Danum Blades classis design to accommodate the shape of the blade. The handle protrudes out of the sheath further than with the classic and the there is a leather strap the goes over the top to add additional security holding the knife in the sheath. There is two different belt loops to allow two knife to be carried at two different levels.
|
The other two designs are both made from Kydex with is a thermo forming plastic which is moulded exactly to the knife that it is being made for. And is easier to clean than a leather sheath.
|
Kydex comes in an array of different colours and patterns from the standard black, green, Tan and Orange. To camouflage patterns like Kryptex, MossyOak and True Timber.
Another option is to replace the leather belt loop with a webbing strap so the it doesn't need to be removed when cleaning.
