Nessmuk
The classic knife pattern of the Nessmuk originated in the Americas, the Nessmuk knife named after the chap who popularized it, George Washington Sears. Sears was a contributor to Forest & Stream Magazine and he used the name “Nessmuk” came from a Native American that he knew when he was a child.
The blades that I have come up with are my take on this classic design. I have two variations. The Nessmuk which is the largest and the mini Nessmuk.

Nessmuk
The Nessmuk has an overall length of 225mm with a blade length of approximately 115mm these are made in either 4 or 5mm stock. The example in the photos below has been made in 5mm O-1 high carbon steel with a scandi grind. Fitted with green burlap Micarta scales with red liners , brass lanyard tube and brass loveless bolts.
The sheath is made of 3mm Veg-Tan leather and dyed in Tan with black thread
This knife is an ideal utility camp knife useful for a number of different jobs

The little brother to the Nessmuk. This knife has an overall length of 185mm and a blades length of 8mm. and is made in either 3,4 or 5mm stock.
The example in the photos below has been made in 5mm O-1 high Carbon steel with a scandi grind. Fitted with Bog Oak scales with white liners and attached with brass lanyard tube and loveless bolts.
As above this sheath is made of 3mm Veg-Tan leather and dyed in Tan with black thread.
The size of the knife makes it handy as a little skinning knife. but is also a useful knife round the camp
