SEAX
Seax is an old English word for “knife”. In fact the seax shape of knife (and sword) was commonly used in northern Europe by the Saxons, Vikings, and Germanic tribes from around the age of the roman occupation of Europe to the early middle ages. The original version of this knife served as a utility camp work tool and on board ship.
The Name Seax even comes from the word Saxon
My version of this traditional design which is in the photos has a 6” straight edge blade made of 4mm steel and has a brass bolster and matching brass bolts (I have also made them in Stainless steel with a stainless bolster and bolts). The scales are made from black linen Micarta.
The sheath has been made from 3mm veg-tan leather and has been dyed in Tan.
Variations can be made the same as other knives that I make, so different handle materials can be used.
